I had a friend recently ask what to do to help with acid reflux and to alkalize their body. Acid reflux is something I have personally dealt with in the past and I wish people knew how easy it was to overcome this.

The top 3 most important things to remember and implement:

1. Avoid dairy. I know this is a tough one, but it is the most crucial. All other actions will be bandaids if this isn't implemented first. Conventional milk and all products created with conventional dairy are acidic and acid producing products. Conventional milk, yogurt, cream cheese, sour cream, cheese, and many salad dressings will all throw off the delicate balance of your stomach's acidity.

2. Drink Apple Cider Vingear {ACV} water once or twice a day. About 8 oz. of water mixed with 1 TBS of ACV {https://amzn.to/3gsJx5s}, is amazing at helping balance the stomach's acidity. NEVER drink ACV by itself straight. It can damage the esophagus. You can add a little honey to make it more palatable.

3. Fresh vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits are amazing at helping cleanse our body, balancing the acidity/alkalinity of our body, and healing our organs. When it comes to acid reflux there's not really one that is better than the other. Adding any fruits and veggies is an excellent start to keeping your stomach healthy. {Unless of course if you're allergice}. Smoothies, salads, chopped up veggies or fruit with hummus, or nut butter, are all great ways to get some more fresh vegetables and fruits into your diet.

A couple more quick tips that will be beneficial to healing your stomach's acidity levels-

1. Use George's Aloe Vera Juice.  This stuff is AMAZING! I noticed results within minutes of taking this juice. Because of the way they process the aloe vera it tastes like water, but it's benefits for my health alone have been monumental. Get it here- https://amzn.to/3HbQAMu

2. AVOID Anti-acids. I can't tell you how much it baffles me that doctors prescribe these. It has become so mainstream, that anytime someone has acid reflux, GERD, anything of that nature, it is thought to be too much acid in our stomach. It is the OPPOSITE that is TRUE! Crazy right? Our stomachs are bombarded with so many acidic foods - fried foods, fast foods, meat {I'm not saying this is bad, it's just not alkaline}, caffeinated drinks, etc. This depletes not only our bodies enzymes, but also our stomach's acidity. Basically anti-acids will keep you on the acid reflux roller coaster for life. That's where ACV water comes in. {see step 2 above}

2. Kombucha is an excellent drink to add to your daily habits. It helps restore the natural balance and replenishes the enzymes in your stomach. I drink about 1/2 C per day.

3. If you're digestion is really in trouble, one of the best things I've ever done to improve mine is to use DigestZen essential oil. It improves digestion, helps reduce acid reflux and so much more. https://doterra.me/NhlL9kZv

Whether you're able to implement all or one of these health habits, you are well on your way to feeling better with improved digestion.  I know these things can help!
